From Here and There

August 20 – September 20          Closing Reception: September 21, 2012, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

This exhibition, curated by artist Carolyn Baginski, features the work of current and recent MFA students from The Ohio University and The Ohio State University. The exhibition highlights the diversity and strength of ideas of the artists working at these institutions. Works range from traditional ceramic objects to installations using digital media.


Kojo: 10.11.12 A Celebration!

October 1 – November 1                                    Reception: Friday, October 12, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.

The exhibition honors and celebrates the National award winning photographer and African American “History Maker” Kojo Kamau. Kojo is known for photographing the dignity of simple everyday people as well as the famous, such as Duke Ellington, May Angelou, Tiger Woods, Elija Pierce and Aminah Robinson.  He also documented the places and events of Columbus, Ohio as well as national and international locations.

November 12 – December 20              Reception: Friday, November 16, 6:00  – 8:00 p.m.

According to popular lore, a reading of the Mayan calendar predicts the earth will experience a host of cataclysmic astronomical events resulting in the world’s destruction in December 2012. Faced with imminent catastrophe, what else is one to do, but make art? While the truth of this prediction remains to be seen artists will exhibit works created with this in mind. The Fuse Factory is an art and technology initiative focused on cultivating artistic production, research, and experimentation with digital media and electronic tools. Our purpose is to function as an incubator for innovation, interaction, collaboration, critical thought, diversity, and artistic exploration.

The Landscapes of Our Minds, The Creative Women of Color

The Creative Women of Color professional artists collective was formed in 2006 under the name of “Sistahs of the Arts” to support and advance art among African American women of all ages, influenced by their rich African heritage.

The Senior Portfolio Exhibition show cases the work of senior artists in the Career Center Portfolio, Fashion and Design, Video Production, Graphics and the High School Arts and Academic Art Program.
